Technology is shaping the future of work, yet many young women still lack access to the training, tools, and networks they need to participate fully. In response, Othniel Foundation has launched the Women in Tech Initiative—an intensive program designed to equip women with digital skills and open doors into the tech ecosystem.
The initiative offers hands-on training in areas such as basic digital literacy, web development, product design, and data skills, depending on each participant’s level. Beyond technical skills, we focus on confidence-building, mentorship, and exposure to role models who prove that women can thrive in tech and leadership roles.
Creating Inclusive Opportunities
Many of our participants come from communities where girls are discouraged from pursuing STEM careers or lack access to laptops, internet, or supportive learning environments. By providing equipment, safe learning spaces, and structured learning paths, we are removing those barriers one by one.
The program includes career talks, networking sessions with industry professionals, and guidance on internships and entry-level opportunities. We want women to not only acquire skills, but to also see clear pathways into meaningful work—whether as employees, freelancers, or tech entrepreneurs.
Building a Community of Support
At the heart of the Women in Tech Initiative is community. Participants learn together, collaborate on projects, and cheer one another on. Alumni are encouraged to return as mentors, creating a cycle of support and inspiration for the next cohort.
Othniel Foundation believes that when women are empowered in tech, they bring fresh ideas, empathy, and innovation that benefit entire communities. This initiative is one of the many ways we are investing in gender equality and long-term economic resilience.
